Emeka Anonyai
CHAIRMAN
Emeka Anonyai is a consummate finance expert. He has been involved in various capital raising exercise and leverage buyout deals.
He started his career with the Corporate & Commercial Banking Group of Oceanic Bank International Plc. (now Ecobank Nigeria Limited) in
March 1999 and grew to become a Team Lead in credit. He joined the Investment Banking Group of IMB International Bank Plc in September 2005 as the Head of Funds Management where he had a stint before the consolidation exercise that led to the merger of IMB, NUM and Finabank (now FCMB Plc). He continued to work in the Investment Banking Group of Finabank Plc. as Head of Fund Management and Fund Manager of the erstwhile IMB Energy Master Fund which he restructured for improved financial performance. He left Finbank Plc. in 2007 for further studies in the UK.
Upon his return from the United Kingdom in 2009, he was reabsorbed by the Finabank Plc. group as the Head of Corporate Finance at
Finabank Capital Limited. Subsequently in 2010, he was appointed to double as the Chief Operating Officer of Finabank Securities and Asset
Management Limited to reposition the subsidiary after the global financial crises. He left FinBank Securities in 2014, after the merger and
integration with FCMB for a private consultancy practice. In January 2016, Emeka joined the then Independent Securities Limited (now
QualiCap Invest Limited) as Vice President, Corporate Finance Advisory & Securities Dealing until January 2019, when he was appointed the
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, a position he held till he joined Planet Capital Limited as Director and Chief Operating Officer.
Emeka holds the Bachelor and Master Degrees in Economics from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka and University of Lagos, Akoka,
respectively. He also holds a master’s degree in International Securities, Investment & Banking from the University of Reading, United
Kingdom, as well as an MBA in Marketing from the University of Nigeria, Enugu State. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers
and a Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, United Kingdom. He has attended various courses locally and
internationally, including the Entrepreneurship in Emerging Economies at the Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Institute of
Directors (IoD) Nigeria.
Paul Uzum
Head/Securities Trading
Paul Uzum has over 14 years consummate experience in the Investment Banking. Prior to joining Planet Capital Limited, he had worked with several Investment Banking firms in different capacities. He was Head of Corporate Finance and Advisory in Qualinvest Capital Limited (formerly Independent Securities); Director, Halo Nigeria Capital Management Limited; and Head, Equity Trading Business in Greenwich Trust Limited. He also worked in African Alliance Stockbrokers where he was responsible for institutional sales and execution for foreign portfolio investors. He began his career in the financial service industry in the Credit Risk Management Group of Intercontinental Bank Plc. (now Access Bank Plc.).
Paul has vast transaction experience spanning business advisory, mergers and acquisition, capital raising, investment management, portfolio management, securities dealing and credit risk management. He has been involved in several capital market transactions in Nigeria.
Paul holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, a Master of Science degree in Economics from the University of Lagos, and a doctorate in Finance from Covenant University, Ota. He also has professional membership of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) – Glasgow, UK, and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria (CIS).
